Scientific Bridge-

The innovation of this work is that it solves the ‘theoretical mystery’ behind paradoxical interventions. As will be discussed, the theory of paradox psychology is based upon ‘orbits-gravity phenomena.’ Using this theory it becomes possible to concisely explain ‘how and why’ the techniques of paradoxical interventions work.

The significance of the ‘orbits-gravity paradigm’ is that it also happens to be the anchor theory that underlies all the ‘hard sciences’ (i.e.: astronomy, biology, chemistry, quantum physics, etc.).  By framing psychological phenomena using the same conceptual model that defines the ‘hard sciences’, we indicate a true and tangible overlap between psychology and the ’hard sciences.’

While the field of psychology has always attempted to project itself as a ‘real science’, the scientific and medical communities and have generally regarded the field as a ‘pseudo-science’ at best. The reason for this is quite clear. Medicine in coordination with the various sciences has consistently moved toward a ‘unified field approach.’ Within this view the fundamental building block in conceptualizing scientific events in chemistry, biology, and macro / micro physics, etc. have converged around ‘orbits-gravity’ type models to express the unified aspect of these sciences. 

The orbits-gravity paradigm is central to the unified field approach in modern science. The advent of this work is to show the relevance of utilizing an  orbits-gravity model  in conceptualing and diagramming psychological phenomena. The utilization of this model represents a major advance in the convergence between psychology and the more technical sciences.  The model demonstrates a tangible bridge that supports the inclusion of the ‘science of psychology’ as part of unified field phenomena. 

 Until now, human psychology has never framed its concepts in a way that parallels accepted scientific thought. Although psychological concepts have always alluded to ‘orbits-gravity phenomena’, the literature has never overtly demonstrated the conceptual overlap that clearly exists with the modern sciences. 

In paradox psychology we clearly convey this overlap. This is done by recognizing ‘repetitive behavior’ as being equivalent to ‘orbits of behavior’, and ‘parent-child bonding / attachment’ as equivalent to the ‘force of gravity.’ By framing psychological concepts in this manner we allude to the possibility of offering a neutral paradigm that is simultaneously inclusive of behavioral, cognitive, and emotional patterns of behavior / energy.

With this understanding, the orbits-gravity model allows us conceptually unify behavioral, cognitive, and (emotional) psycho-dynamic orientations under one single umbrella theory.


In introducing an orbits-gravity model to describe psychological phenomena we present a significant shift in the current status of psychology as a psuedo-science. Through this model we provide a tangible bridge that shows a clear parallel between known psychological concepts (i.e.: repetitive behavior and attachment) and orbits-gravity concepts that define the ‘hard sciences’.

By presenting paradoxical theory within this new framework, we offer an exciting avenue and a concise language for discussing the deeper nuances of psychological phenomena. In addition the orbits-gravity paradigm offers a viable model to support the counter-intuitive nature of paradoxical interventions.  

As we will see, this model allows psychology to parallel and gain access to otherwise abstract ‘quantum realities’ that are already accepted as part of modern scientific thought. As such, the ‘orbits-gravity framework’ is relevant to a broad range of clinical practice and treatment.              EPK Revised: 1-15-12
